1)Clay sketches by Michelangelo for the head and arms of Cosmas
in the Medici chapel were regarded by Vasari as invaluable gifts;
2)Alessandro Vittoria was pleased to acquire a single model by Michelangelo, a sketch for the left leg of Giorno; 3) a small wax model of a head was the only present Pietro Aretino ever recieved from Michelangelo. Although Aretino attacked Michelangelo, nonetheless he still admired him. 4)Michelangelo presented this bronze statuete to the Archbishop of Florence, Giovanni Salviati, and it remained in the family's possession till 1830 |
